Statistics from the Bay County Association of Realtor
The statistics below show the total number of listings in Bay County for 2009, total number of new listings, total active listings, total listings that had a contingency and the total number of listings that when pending in 2009.
New Listings are all listings that come on the market in 2009. Active listings are those listings that are on the market and did not sell. Contingent listings are most likely short sale listings that have not been approved by the lender. Pending listings represents the total number of listings that had a solid contract. Sold listings are the total number of listings that sold.
Notice that in 2009 we had more than 10,000 new listings come on the market and only 25% sold. More than 7,500 listings in 2009 did not sell.
Also notice the number of properties that went pending in 2009 is much higher than the number of sold properties. 2009 was the toughest year I have ever seen in my 13 years of real estate to hold a transaction together. Most in part to buyers not able to obtain financing.
